This link should help you. Im looking for some too and I stumbled across here. ^

So there are some free ones. If you are looking into to actually paying money so you can get a top of the notch software, try Sony Vegas. I've heard nothing but great replies.

At some point I should really upgrade from Windows Move Maker... XD

I wasted no time in upgrading from windows movie maker. It's just so limited in things it can do.

Currently I'm using OBS multiplatform to record which is already better than the original OBS.

As an editor I'm using Magix Movie Edit Pro 2015 which so far is pretty good for the money. I think I've paid $30 for it or something like that. Unfortunately it's not working right with multiplatform.

I've recently downloaded the light version of light works which is pretty good but it's got a huge learning curve so I'm still trying to figure it out.

I have Adobe Premier Pro CS6 (it was bought for me recently) but I don't known how to use it so I just stick with Windows Movie Maker.. I want to learn how to work the better one but it's having the time to sit down and spend time thinking about it..

I use Bandicam to record videos (the free version, which has some limitations, but still rocks). I use a mix of Windows Movie Maker and VirtualDub to edit my videos and Audacity to edit audio.
are you worthy of the flip side?

All the software I use is free and for now is getting the job done nicely. I too use Windows Movie Maker, it's super easy and to use and has most of the options I needed, which was basically just cutting video down and combining videos together, then adding audio on top. Occasionally I will put text on top of the video, and it has that option too. I tried Lightworks but like Blewberries said it's a crazy steep learning curve.  Audacity is what I use for doing the audio commentaries over the videos, and OBS is what I use to record the videos.

I currently use VSDC(I really don't recommend this) and windows movie maker. Although, I'm currently switching to Lightworks which from what I've seen and heard is better than both of them.
Hope that helps you out.
